2024 Package FAQ
How much is a Disney World package?
Package pricing varies by date, number of nights, hotel, number of guests, ages of guests, ticket type, and any add-ons. I can help you determine the exact cost based on your specific plans.
What month is Disney World cheapest?
Typically prices are lowest in late August through early October. Rates are usually higher from February through April. We see the highest rates on holiday weeks like Christmas, President’s Day and Easter.
When is Disney World less crowded?
In general, you can expect lower-than-normal crowds whenever grade schools are in session, fall and late spring in particular. That being said, I have seen lower crowds during the last week of July through the end of August in recent years. Mother’s Day weekend is also a great time to visit for low crowds.

Insiders Look at the Disney World 4-Park Magic Ticket
Is the Disney World 4-Day Magic Ticket right for you?
There’s no better way to spend quality time with family and friends than a summer vacation at Walt Disney World Resort!
The 4-Park Magic Discount Ticket at Disney World
You can purchase the 4-Park Magic Ticket which includes one day of admission to each of the four theme parks for a total of 4 admissions, on 4 separate days for $99 per day (plus tax).
No theme park reservations are needed. In this article, I’ll show you how you can combine this ticket with a Disney World hotel stay and how to save on the nightly room rate.
How the 4-Park Magic Ticket Compares to a Standard Disney World Ticket
$99 Per Day
Purchase the 4-Park Magic Ticket for $99 per day plus tax ($396 total plus tax). Tickets expire seven days from first use, or Sept. 29, 2023, whichever comes first.
This special promo ticket costs slightly more than a 3-Day Standard Disney World Ticket, but less than a Standard 4-Day ticket.
Flexible Disney World Touring
Standard Disney World Ticket
With a Standard Disney World Ticket, you can choose the parks you would like to visit in any combination.
For example, you may decide to visit Magic Kingdom on two separate days.
Theme Park reservations are required and ticket prices vary by day.
Standard tickets can be included in Disney World Resort Packages and are refundable according to the package terms. In short: cancel by 30 days prior to arrival for a full refund.
4-Park Magic Ticket
The 4-Day Magic Ticket gives you one admission to each of the 4 Disney World theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom) but you cannot repeat a park visit.
Of course, you will be able to leave and return to the same park on the same day.
Theme Park reservations are not required with a 4-Park Magic Ticket and ticket prices do not vary by day.
Disney World Packages: 4-Park Magic cannot be included in a Disney World Resort Package and it is non-refundable once purchased. However, it can be combined with a resort stay so that it resembles a package, but with different terms and conditions.
Plan a Summer Vacation at Walt Disney World
I can help you plan a Walt Disney World Resort stay with the Four Park Magic Ticket with an easy-to-understand price quote and booking process.
When you combine the 4-Day Magic Ticket discount with one of the summer room offers available on select Walt Disney World hotels, you can save big this summer.

Secrets and Easter Eggs in Roundup Rodeo BBQ at Walt Disney World
Roundup Rodeo BBQ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is loaded with hidden detail Here are some of my favorites.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ inside Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is packed with hidden details. From floor to ceiling, Imagineers included hidden references and story elements everywhere you look.
The restaurant was created by Andy, the boy who owns the toys from the Toy Story films. Andy used whatever he could to build a restaurant for his toys.
Notice the twisty tie holding up the lantern on the sign, and a scrap piece of low-voltage wire for the other lantern on the right.
Andy used whatever he had available to make his restaurant.
As soon as you enter Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you are shrunken down to the size of a toy.
This theme is carried into the Roundup Rodeo as well. You’ll notice that most objects appear larger than life.
Notice how big the cardboard toy cutouts are, and even the Christmas lights are huge, in our smaller, toy-like size.
In the lobby of Woody’s Roundup Rodeo, we see a mural of “The Amazing Ropin’ Woody” with “spring action.”
We see that Andy has drawn in Buzz Lightyear’s nemesis, Emperor Zurg who now appears to be lassoed by Woody.
We know Andy drew him in because Zurg would not appear on anything from Woody’s Roundup playset.
These characters only exist together in Andy’s world.
As you enter the restaurant, you’ll notice that Andy has arranged his toys just like the picture on the box: Woody has lassoed Zurg.
There are references to many of the Toy Story characters if you know where to look - and if you know where to listen.
Listen for some audio references that play occasionally over the restaurant’s PA system.
You may hear a recording from Partysaurus Rex, or even Sarge who warns that Andy is coming.
The entire restaurant, staff included, freezes in position (because we’re all toys, remember?) While we never see Andy, we can hear that he is nearby.
When we hear Andy leave, we get the all-clear from Sarge and it’s safe to move again. It’s cute!
Although the story is focused on Woody, there are references to most of the main Toy Story characters.
The more I looked around the restaurant, the more I found them.
I’m sure I missed quite a few but I can only wander around the restaurant for so long before it gets weird lol. I get the look of “Why is this guy taking pictures of the walls and ceiling??
Even secondary characters are present like the Little Green Aliens and the romantic and flirty Bo Peep.
Every square inch of the ceiling has some type of reference to Toy Story and/or something Andy created.
In one part you’ll see a page of an actual Woody comic strip that was created just for the restaurant.
The walls of the restaurant are made from toy boxes, a puzzle, and scrap cardboard.
Disney Imagineers created two board games, one with a space theme and one with a frontier theme. You can see the game boards on the ceiling of Roundup Rodeo BBQ.
These are real games that Imagineers actually played. They even wrote directions on how to play them.
Can you find Buzz Lighyear’s rocketship? Yep, that’s in there too!
The Triple R Ranch is also referenced at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. I just mentioned it in my video tour of Ft. Wilderness as well.
The Tri-Circle D Ranch at Fort Wilderness is home to the 90+ working horses of Walt Disney World. The name is a reference to the Triple R Ranch.
Triple R Ranch is a reference from an old spinoff of the beloved Mickey Mouse Club called “The Adventures of Spin and Marty.” The Triple R Ranch was the summer camp that the two boys attended in the series.
Can you spot the Hidden Mickey?
Look directly at the base of Trixy and you’ll spot a 3-dimensional Hidden Mickey.
You can see his head, nose, and of course, ears.
The back wall of Roundup Rodeo is made from a nearly completed puzzle.
Notice that 2 pieces are missing.
The missing pieces can be found somewhere in Toy Story Land. If you can find them, post where you spotted them in the comments below.
Russell, our favorite Wilderness Explorer from Disney Pixar’s Up has a cameo in Roundup Rodeo and is the only non-Toy Story character to appear in the restaurant.
Oh, and the character on the far left - is made in the likeness of the lead Disney Imagineer on this project.
Remember Minnie Moo from the 1980s and 1990s? She was the infamous dairy cow who was born with a Hidden Mickey patch on her side.
Minnie Moo can be found on the side of Andy’s milk carton inside the restaurant.
And the expiration date on the milk carton refers to the date the first Toy Story film was released in theaters: Nov 22, 1995.
And the 01:13 is not there by accident either. “A113” is a classroom number at the California Institute of the Arts where character animation is taught.
Many of the Pixar staff have used the number in their professional works. It is said to appear in some way, shape, or form in every Pixar film (and restaurant!)

Wonder of the Seas - Activities for Kids | Royal Caribbean
Activities for kids and families on Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas. The largest cruise ship in the world.
What can kids do on Royal Caribbeans Wonder of the Seas? Let me start by saying the kids club is just the beginning. Here are my top activities for kids and families on Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas.
Laser Tag: Clash for the Crystal City
The story goes that sometime in the distant future. Two teams battle it out in a glow-in-the-dark laser tag faceoff in a frozen-themed wasteland.
The course itself is a massive inflatable castle, that is set up in Studio B, the ship’s indoor ice rink.
The ice is covered with carpet so you won’t slip but shoes are required for this.
Children must be at least 5 years old to play and 40 inches but it’s not just for kids. It’s a great activity for families or even if the kids can play themselves while you watch.
Here’s a tip: you need to make reservations once onboard Wonder of the Seas, so on Day 1 scroll through the Daily Planner in the Royal Caribbean app to see which days laser tag is being offered.
Chances are you’ll want to play more than once so sign up for a few games. Stand-by spots are also available but you know…it’s standby so who knows if you’re going to get in. Better to make a reservation.
Wonder PlayScape
For your little ones, Wonder PlayScape is an underwater-themed world with slides, child-size climbing walls, games, and puzzles.
And by night, the playscape transforms into an otherworldly seascape with special lighting and effects.
Adult supervision is required here but there are places to sit. Or, you can get in on the fun and play together.
Boardwalk on Wonder of the Seas
The Boardwalk Neighborhood located on deck 6 aft, is where you’ll find complimentary carousel rides and even special events like the Family Fun Day Carnival.
The carnival has a chocolate fountain, cotton candy machines, games for kids, and live entertainment.
Be sure to check the daily planner on the Royal Caribbean app for special events on the Boardwalk.
These events are popular so I recommend getting there a few minutes early.
But of course, the carousel is the main attraction here. Those are hand-carved horses by the way!
The Boardwalk Neighborhood also has the Dog House featuring hot dogs and brats.
All of this is included in your cruise fare.
Ultimate Abyss
There are 2 kinds of people in the world. Those who think sliding down 10 stories on Wonder of the Seas, sounds exciting, and those who think it sounds terrifying.
Well, it’s actually not as terrifying as it looks.
It’s a regular slide, not a water slide, and you sit in on a mat all the way down.
You can actually control how fast you go once inside by pulling up on the front handle.
While it is thrilling, it’s not as intimidating as you might think.
Inside there are lighting and sound effects that make it even more exciting.
Just remember that when come to a stop at the bottom, you’ll be on Deck 6 - the Boardwalk and you will need to take an elevator back up.
The minimum highest is 44” and you do not need reservations.
Adventure Ocean Kids Club
Royal Caribbean ships are of course family ships, but Wonder of the Seas takes it to the next level. Adventure Ocean is way beyond a kids club.
Adventure Ocean is included for children between the ages of 3 and 11.
Inside there are plenty of activities just for kids like science experiments, an Imagination Studio presented by Crayola, scheduled character appearances starring popular DreamWorks characters, and scavenger hunts.
They also have field trips to the sports courts, and video arcades where the games are free movie nights (even Disney movies which I think is awesome...because well, you know, this isn’t Disney Cruise Line).
Kids may also be escorted to Windjammers buffet for dinner - they even have their own little buffet.
Adventure Ocean is open from about 9 am to 10 pm, but it does close periodically so be sure to check to schedule.
On Port Days it’s typically open the entire time Wonder of the Seas is in port.
Adventure Ocean Late Night Party starts at 10 pm, for $7 per hour. Kids can stay until 2 am.
I recommend you attend the Adventure Ocean open house on Embarkation Day. You can meet the crew and register your child. You can also play together in the different spaces during open house.
Babies and Tots Programs on Wonder of the Seas
Wonder of the Seas has a babies program just for those between the ages of 6 months and 18 months in Adventure Ocean Babies.
Adventure Ocean Junior is for children ages 18 months to 36 months. They must be potty trained to enter.
A small fee applies to both AO Babies and AO Junior which is about $7 per hour.
Social 100 Teen Club
Teens age 13 - 17 have their own space on board too - and Wonder of the Seas really does a great job of giving them options and variety.
They will just be so thrilled to get some space (and believe me, you will too!)
There are 2 parts, the Social 100 Club on Deck 16, an indoor place to chill, play video games, and socialize.
They also have planned activities at the sports deck in the evenings.
Plus there’s a private Social 100 outdoor area on Deck 17.
Here they have places to chill, and sit in the hot tub, there’s even a refreshment bar serving non-alcoholic beverages.
Teens are allowed to come and go as they please.
If you have a teen who is going by themselves, I recommend they attend on the first night. The crew does introductions and icebreakers so the kids can make friends.
Also on Day 1 parents can tour the teen club and register.
The Perfect Storm
There’s a water park located on the pool deck which features dual racer sides, the first boomerang-style and headfirst mat racer waterslides at sea, and a Champagne bowl slide, where after braving the slide, you emerge in a giant "bowl" before sliding down one more tube.
Oh, I know what you’re thinking - sounds like a toilet bowl. Exactly!
This onboard water park is included with your cruise fare.
Height and weight restrictions apply, I recommend these slides for those ages 7 and up.
Splashaway Bay
Pint-sized cruisers can have a blast too in Splashaway Bay water park.
This water playscape features colorful waterslides, water cannons, fountains, pools, and whirlpools for tots to tweens (and their supervising parents).
Kids must be potty trained. The slide has a minimum height requirement of 42”.
Wonder of the Seas Zip Line
You are suspended on the Zip Line nine decks up above the Boardwalk Neighborhood on Wonder of the Seas.
It’s hard to imagine that this can be done on a cruise ship! The zip line is open to kids age 12+ and a minimum of 52”. A parent must be present.
You’ll need closed-toe shoes with laces so, don’t forget those. The zip line is included in your fare, no reservation is required.
Check the daily planner in the Royal app for times once onboard.
Flowrider Surf Simulator
This surf simulator is one of the most popular activities for kids and adults alike. Reservations are recommended -make them in the Royal app. If your child is new to surfing, they offer boogie boarding in addition to stand-up surfing.
Private lessons are also available starting at around $70.
If they get the hang of it, expect a big cheer from the crowd. We all know it’s not easy so it’s nice to see others cheer them on.
Wiping out is inevitable but don’t worry, Flowrider is basically a giant trampoline with water, so you just bounce around until coming to a rest.
Still, you will need to pass a quick physical agility test and sign a waiver so you should allow for additional time prior to your reservation time.
Wonder Dunes Mini-Golf
I recommend playing miniature golf at night. Why? Because it’s hot on the top deck during the day.
But Wonder of The Seas has something special: nighttime lighting effects.
This is actually a great activity that the entire family can enjoy together.
It’s included with your cruise and you can play as many times as you like. No reservations are required.
Wonder of the Seas Sports Court
The sports court is always busy, especially with teens looking to play basketball. Social 100 will sometimes have activities planned here as well in the evenings.
Spotlight Karaoke
From show tunes or shower tunes, your entire family can sing your favorite hits with thousands of popular songs to choose from.
Reservations are required and they can be made in the Royal app once onboard. This is a popular activity so I recommend reserving on Day 1.
Wonder of the Seas Arcade
The arcade on Wonder of the Seas isn’t as popular as other ships probably because there are so many other activities for kids.
But you’ll find a good mix of games from the 80s, 90s, and today.
The games are not included in your cruise fare but the Adventure Ocean team sometimes brings the kids over for free play.
Rock Climbing Wall
Rock climbing walls have become a guest favorite on Royal Caribbean ships and Wonder of the Seas has 2! Both are located in the aft, just behind the Boardwalk Neighborhood. These 30 ft tall rock walls are open to kids age 6+.
Rock climbing is supervised by crew members and they are great about encouraging kids to keep going. It’s much harder than it looks.
Kids can safely and slowly repel back down - which is the fun part!
Reservations are not needed and it is included with your cruise fare.
Just remember to bring a pair of socks because special rock climbing shoes will be provided.
Intense Aqua-Theater Performance
Kids might not immediately be too fond of having to sit through a show but Intense on Wonder of the Seas is different.
It’s a high-energy show with powerful music and has everything from pool plunging to tightrope teetering and beyond.
This show is extremely popular and has limited seating so you definitely want to make a reservation in the Royal app as soon as you’re on board.
Arrive 30 minutes prior to show time to secure a good seat.
I also recommend sitting towards the rear of the theater as some performances take palace over the audience.
Kid-Friendly Food on Wonder of the Seas
From the Sorrentos Pizza to the cutest buffet line called KidJammers, there are plenty of kid-friendly dining options onboard Wonder of the Seas.
Even the main dining room is kid friendly.
It’s a great time to see if they want to try something new because almost everything is included in your cruise fare. If they don’t like it, that’s ok, they can order something else.
I got my son to try Escargot as an appetizer. It didn’t go well, but hey, he tried it and it was really funny to watch.

Disney World Update: 2024 Package Update, Dining Plans Coming Back, Park Reservations Going Way
2024 Walt Disney World Vacation Packages go on sale May 31, 2024. Dining Plans, updates to Disney Genie+, and park reservations are all being updated. Plus more!
I have so many exciting things to share with you about Walt Disney World in 2024. Here’s what I know so far:
Removing theme park reservation requirements for date-based tickets
Bringing back the Disney dining plans
Simplifying the Disney Genie+ experience
Updated room categories
When you can book a 2024 Walt Disney World Package
Removing theme park reservation requirements for date-based tickets
Starting with park visits on Jan. 9, 2024, Walt Disney World theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets.
For reference, date-based tickets are the standard ticket option Disney World offers to guests, so tickets purchased through a package and stand-alone tickets are considered “date-based.”
Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will be offered select days on which they may visit the Walt Disney World theme parks without needing a park reservation. Once introduced, Disney will roll out these “good-to-go” days on an ongoing basis.
More to come on the Passholder update.
Bringing back the Walt Disney World dining plans in 2024
Disney dining plans will be coming back as an option for those staying at Disney Resort hotels who purchase a Walt Disney World vacation package starting with stays beginning Jan. 9, 2024, which will also open for bookings on May 31.
Guests will be able to choose from two popular options: Packages that include either the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan – both will be a great value for families with young children with access to many spectacular food and beverage offerings across Walt Disney World.
No word on a Deluxe dining plan at this time or if there will be any changes to how meal entitlements will work.
Simplifying the Disney Genie+ experience
Disney World has heard from guests (myself included) that they would like ways to plan with Disney Genie+ service and individual lightning lane selections before the day of their park visit, and while I don’t have specifics to share yet, I want you to know Disney is working on ways guests may do this for visits in 2024.
According to Disney, “We want to give guests the opportunity to spend less time planning in the park and more time enjoying their visit with friends and family. We look forward to sharing more details at a later date.”
Updated room categories
Effective later this month, and including all 2024 reservations, the names of some room categories at Deluxe Resorts will be simplified to be three categories in most cases:
resort view
water view
theme park view
There may be some exceptions to this, for example, Savannah View at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, but overall this is deigned to make things easier for guests. I think it will.
When can you book a Disney World 2024 package?
Disney Resort hotel stays and packages at Walt Disney World will be offered starting on May 31, 2024.
Many of you are already on my wait list. To get started on a 2024 package you can join my wait list now - just send me a message asking to be on my list, and I’ll reach out to you once we’re good to go.

Club Level Lounge Access
The most valuable benefit to staying club-level is access to the concierge lounge where light meals and snacks are provided throughout the day.
You'll also have access to unlimited soft drinks, water, beer and wine at no additional cost.
Each morning a continental breakfast is served.
Expect a wide array of coffees, fresh juice, cereals, pastries, yogurt, granola, bagels, oatmeal and fresh fruit.
Mid-day snacks are typically pretzel bites, Goldfish crackers, chocolate chip cookies and popular candies.
Beverages are on hand as well.
When you’re coming back to the hotel for a mid-day break, this is perfect.

Additional Lounge Offerings
Wine-and-Cheese Tasting - In late afternoon a wide array of cheeses, crackers and wines are offered.
Dinner offering - Each Disney concierge lounge provides hot appetizers from the feature restaurant at the hotel. If you’re a light eater this can be a meal in itself and a great way to cut costs.
Dessert and Cordials - Later in the evening a fantastic selection of fine chocolates, pastries and cordials are offered in the lounges.
Club Level at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Club Level Rooms
Club Level accommodations can be an additional $90 to $250+ more per night over a regular room, depending on the resort, time of year and view.
But with that additional cost comes a lot of value.
You might actually be able to save money by staying club-level if you use the lounge to your advantage.
Is Club Level worth it at Walt Disney World?
Yes! Having access to the concierge lounge can replace several meals and snacks.
You might find that the evening appetizers are enough to count as dinner or they can supplement a lighter meal later on.
Skip desserts in restaurants and parks! The dessert offerings in the lounge are decadent and you can try as many as you want.
Having access to unlimited beverages can be a great savings too, especially if you enjoy beer and/or wine.
You're free to take a few beverages to go as well.
Club Level at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
What does Club Level Mean at Walt Disney World?
Most club-level rooms are regular rooms: two queens and a sleeper sofa or one king and a sleeper sofa.
Most will accommodate up to five guests (plus one infant).
There are some exceptions however: Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and some rooms at Disney's Beach Club Resort sleep four guests (plus one infant) and do not have a sleeper sofa.
Suites are also offered on the concierge floor and are popular with honeymooners. Suites that are not on the concierge floor usually come with lounge privileges.
To access the concierge floor you’ll need a specially coded key to activate the elevator button.
Club-level rooms are priced according to the view they offer.
Unless the view is ultra important to you, a standard or garden view is fine for most.
Minnie Van Airport Transfers
As a Club Level guest, you have exclusive access to Minnie Vans for your airport transfers between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World.
You can book this directly with the Signature Services team, they will be able to provide the cost and availability.

Tips for Avoiding Crowds at Walt Disney World
Insider tips beating the crowds at Walt Disney World
As a travel advisor, I’m often asked about the best time to visit Walt Disney World, or when are the parks less crowded?
Here are the most frequently asked questions I receive about avoiding crowds and long lines at Walt Disney World.
Tips for avoiding crowds at Walt Disney World in Florida
What is the best time to go to Walt Disney World to avoid crowds?
Anytime schools are session. If you live in a school district that starts school after Labor Day, consider going to Disney World in late August. It’s one of the least crowded times of the year!
Other less crowded times:
All of September and October
Early November
Early December
Late April
All of May
Early June
What time should we arrive at the parks?
To avoid crowds at Disney World, I recommend arriving at the theme parks about 30-40 minutes prior to the posted park opening time. If Magic Kingdom opens at 9 am, plan to be at the gate for 8:30 am.
The parks often open early, by as much as 20 minutes.
If you’re at the park when it opens, you’ll enjoy 60-90 minutes of lighter crowds. The majority of the guests will begin to arrive mid-morning.
Allow 60-90 minutes to get to the park entrance if using Disney buses in the morning.
Is it worth it for us to buy Genie+?
Yes! If you’re concerned about waiting in long lines and crowds, (I assume you are if you’re reading this article) then Genie+ is a great tool for you. If you don’t like standing in long lines, Genie+ is designed for you.
Is Disney World more crowded on weekends?
Yes and no. During peak times there is no difference between a Saturday or a Tuesday. During off-peak times of the year (see above), yes there will be a slight uptick in crowds on weekends, Especially around Halloween and Christmas.
But don’t let that discourage you, off-peak is still off-peak and you’ll still enjoy fewer crowds.
To help you plan the perfect time to visit Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, contact me now. I can help you find the best time visit for weather, crowds and discounts.

MagicBand+ Coming to Disney Cruise Line as "DisneyBand+"
Disney Cruise Line announced it will be introducing “DisneyBand+” this summer starting with the Disney Wish.
Disney Cruise Line announced it will be introducing “DisneyBand+” this summer starting with the Disney Wish. DisneyBand+ is a wearable wristband, similar to MagicBand and MagicBand+ currently available at Disney’s U.S. theme parks.
DisneyBand+ will have functionality at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, just be sure to link the band to your Disney account.
DisneyBand+ does everything your complimentary Key to the World card does but with a little more style (and maybe a surprise or two).
Solid bands cost $34.99, and themed designs cost $44.99, plus tax. Shipping is included at no extra charge. DisneyBand+ cannot be shipped outside of the United States.
What you can do with DisneyBand+
Stateroom entry
Charging purchases to the payment card in your stateroom folio
Linking photos to your shipboard account (photos must be separately purchased).
Also works as an Oceaneer Band for kids age 12 and under.
DisneyBand+ requires charging if you want it to light up at select events onboard and the battery must be sufficiently charged to receive photos.
Bands should be charged overnight and charged every six months to maintain a healthy battery.
→ Check out these Agency Exclusive Cruise Deals from Magical Vacations Travel (you won’t find them anywhere else!)
Fortunately, the Disney Wish has plenty of USB ports near the bed and by the desk. If you have multiple devices that need overnight charging you can bring a USB charging hub (but not a powerstrip!).
Remember to pack your DisneyBand+ charger!
Disney will be testing DisneyBand+ on the Disney Wish this summer and it will be rolled out on other Disney Cruise Line ships at a later date.

What's the Difference Between Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean?
Disney Cruise Line vs. Royal Caribbean
Both Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean dominate the market for family-friendly cruise vacations and they both deliver a premium family vacation experience unlike any of the other cruise lines out there.
They both have private islands in the Bahamas. Most Bhamaian and Caribbean cruises include a stop at their respective island. Disney’s Castaway Cay is more tranquil and natural while Royal’s is more of a destination with restaurants, pools, water slides and of course, beaches.
People often ask me, which cruise line is better, Disney or Royal Caribbean? But it’s not about who is better, that’s too subjective. It’s about booking the vacation experience that appeals to you most.
Let me explain. There are basically 3 categories of cruises:
The inexpensive party cruises - popular with college kids.
Destination-rich cruises - popular with those enjoying their golden years.
Family-focused cruising - ships packed with exciting onboard activities.
Both Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean are obviously family-focused.
But they also attract a number of active adults who want to be somewhere between college kids having a blast and a boatload of retirees who enjoy quietly reading at the pool.
Disney Wish | Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line is perfect for those with children ages 4 to 10.
But I would argue that Disney cruises are also ideal for Disney fans of all ages. Onboard experiences are centered around meeting Disney characters and Disney-themed shows.
Spaces onboard Disney cruise ships are highly themed environments, just like the theme parks. For example, on the Disney Wish, you’ll dine in the royal banquet hall of Arendelle from Disney’s Frozen film, or enjoy a drink in a Star Wars lounge that’s truly out-of-this-world (pun intended).
Star Wars HyperSpace Lounge onboard the Disney Wish
The newer Disney ships have water coasters that circle the top deck along with pools and Disney movies that play all day on a giant movie screen called Funnel Vision.
AquaDuck water coaster onboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. The Disney Wish has a similar attraction.
Disney Cruise Line offers a very high level of service and attention to detail, even when going though the booking process.
One of the best features about DCL is that many standard staterooms can accommodate 4 to 5 guests. This is not the case with most other cruise lines. But Royal Caribbean offers plenty of connecting stateroom options for families.
While Disney Cruise Line is on the higher end of cruise fares, I think you will feel that you definitely feel that you got what you paid for.
If you have tweens or teens that are indifferent to Disney, Star Wars or Marvel, then I recommend Royal Caribbean.
Royal Caribbean
Wonder of the Seas, an Oasis Class Ship, is the largest cruise ship in the world | Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean is the largest cruise line in the world and offers ships that are designed specifically with family vacations in mind.
Royal specializes in variety. Ships are expertly designed to offer something for the entire family.
This is especially true on the Oasis Class ships, the largest cruise ships in the world.
Some Royal Caribbean ships offer things like zip lines across the top deck, pools, rock climbing walls, water slides, ice skating (on real ice - in a real rink!), laser-tag courses, escape room challenges, bumper cars, specialty restaurants like a hibachi steakhouse, wellness spas, lounges, and casinos.
Many Royal Caribbean ships offer onboard ice skating and ice skating performances
There are so many reasons to get excited about a Royal Caribbean cruise.
Royal Caribbean’s ships are loaded from bow to stern with game-changing thrills but also offer theater shows, live entertainment, as well as next-level dining, and a high level of service. See Royal Caribbean my tips ▸
“Thank you so much for being so patient with us. We had a great first cruise. Your advice was spot on especially with the dining package. ”
Both Disney and Royal Caribbean offer a premium vacation experience with first-class activities and service.
They both dominate the Florida cruise market, departing from Port Canaveral (Orlando) and Miami but they each offer international itineraries too.
For example, Disney and Royal Caribbean sail to Alaska, the Mediterranean, Asia, and Mexico.

Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board today announced magical cruise vacations to Southeast Asia for the first time, revealed by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro and Singapore’s Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, S. Iswaran.
Disney Cruise Line will have year-round sailings from Singapore starting in 2025
Under a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding, Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board agreed to collaborate to homeport a brand-new Disney cruise ship exclusively in Singapore for at least five years beginning in 2025. More details about the maiden voyage, itineraries and onboard experiences will be announced at a later date.
“This is a very exciting year for The Walt Disney Company — 2023 marks our 100th anniversary,” D’Amaro said. “As part of this, Disney Cruise Line is currently undergoing an ambitious expansion with new ships and new destinations around the world. We are incredibly excited to make Singapore the home port to our seventh-launched ship, which will sail from here year-round starting in 2025.”

Easy Guide to the Walt Disney World Monorail System
Where the Disney monorails go, frequently asked questions to riding the Disney World monorails, and even a few fun facts.
Walt Disney World monorails carry 50 million passengers a year, service 3 Walt Disney World hotels, two Disney theme parks and operate on 15 miles of track.
Oh and it’s the busiest monorail system in the world! Disney World monorails are also convenient, fast and fun to ride!
Here are a few tips and frequently asked questions about using the Walt Disney World monorails.
Monorails pass right through the lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Where do the Disney World monorails go?
The monorails begin their routes at a central terminal known as the Ticket and Transportation Center. You can get to all destinations from this station. This is also where the Magic Kingdom parking lot is located.
There are three Disney monorail lines.
Resort Monorail with service to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
Express Monorail offers direct service between the Ticket and Transportation Center and Magic Kingdom Park (does not stop at hotels).
Epcot Monorail offers direct service between the Ticket and Transportation Center and Epcot.
Which Disney World hotels are on the monorail?
There are three Deluxe Resorts that offer monorail service to Magic Kingdom and Epcot:
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Monorail Red passing through Epcot
How do I get from Magic Kingdom to Epcot by monorail?
Take the Express Monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center. Here you’ll transfer to the Epcot line. There are signs directing you where to go at each station. Cast Members are also available to assist.
What are the Disney World monorail hours of operation?
The Walt Disney World Monorail System operating times vary, depending on expected crowd levels and park hours. Typically monorails will start running 30 minutes prior to the earliest park opening until one hour after the latest park closing. I would not rely on the monorails to make an early morning dining reservation, consider driving or using Uber or Lyft.
Can I bring a stroller/wheelchair/scooter on the Disney World monorails?
Yes, and in most cases, strollers do not need to be folded. This is very convenient if your little one is sleeping in the stroller! A Cast Member will assist you in boarding the monorail if you have a medical stroller, wheelchair, or scooter.
Monorail Silver on the Epcot line
Is it free to ride the monorail?
There is no charge nor is a ticket required to ride the Walt Disney World monorails.
How often do the monorails arrive at the resort stations?
Monorails arrive every 5-8 minutes.
How long does it take to get to the Magic Kingdom by monorail?
Disney’s Contemporary Resort - about 20 minutes. Even though Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the closest hotel to Magic Kingdom, the monorail has to make a full run from this point. Consider walking to the Magic Kingdom, it takes less than 10 minutes. On your way back to the hotel, take the monorail, you’ll be the first stop.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort - about 10 minutes.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort - about 3 minutes. When leaving Magic Kingdom, consider walking back instead, it could be faster. If you board the monorail at Magic Kingdom, the Grand Floridian will be the last stop.
Which is the most convenient hotel at Walt Disney world?
Disney’s Polynesian Resort is the most convenient because you have easy access to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot by monorail. To board from Epcot monorail from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, simply walk to the nearby Ticket and Transportation Center station. Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian are also convenient to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, but you’ll need to take the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center and transfer.
I’m worried about getting lost. will there be anyone to help me?
Yes, Cast Members are present at each station. Keep in mind this is not the New York City Subway System by any means. If at any time you feel lost or unsure of the route, there are Disney employees at each station who are happy to assist you. Disney does a great job with directional signage at each station. These are not commuter lines, the Walt Disney World Monorail System was built for visitors.
If you have a specific question about using the Walt Disney World monorail, feel free to contact me.

Royal Caribbean Dining and Beverage Package Tip
Tip for saving money on dining and beverage packages with Royal Caribbean
As a travel advisor specializing in Royal Caribbean, I spend a lot of time providing expert advice for my cruise clients. Here’s one that comes up a lot: is it worth it to buy a dining or beverage package onboard the ship?
Royal Caribbean Beverage Package Tip
Royal Caribbean offers several packages, spa packages, dining packages, beverage packages, wifi packages, and more.
Now, whether or not they are worth it for your family is a different topic and I can work with you to help you figure that out. But in general, most people buy at least some type of onboard package.
I always get the soft-drink package because soda isn’t free onboard, not even at dinner and I don’t like alcohol. So for me, the price is reasonable enough. But here’s how you can save money on these plans.
One of my favorite tips regarding onboard purchases is to wait on the beverage packages until after you book.
See, after you book your cruise (you remembered to book with a travel agent, right?) you will very likely receive an email from Royal Caribbean with onboard discounts that are available during your cruise.
Royal Caribbean Beverage Package Tip
Royal Caribbean usually sends this discount email only once, so if and when you receive it, be sure to act on it when it comes in.
If you already booked a beverage package, you can ask your travel agent to modify your package to the new lower rate for you.
“Thank you so much for being so patient with us. We had a great first cruise. Your advice was spot on especially with the dining package. ”

The award-winning Adventure Ocean Youth Program treats children of all ages to games, events, and activities throughout the day and into the evening hours.
Adventure Ocean is the kid’s club on Royal Caribbean ships
Did you know every member of the Adventure Ocean and Teen Program team holds a four-year degree in education, recreation or similar major?
And each team member also has a minimum of three years of work history in a related field.
Experience counts when it comes to caring for kids!
The Royal Babies program (ages 6-18 months) offers the tiniest guests, and their parents, interactive classes filled with enriching activities developed by early childhood experts.
And for toddlers, Royal Tots (ages 18-36 months) offers interactive playground sessions filled with age-appropriate activities and toys.
The uniquely creative, educational and fun programs available for kids 3-11 years old include a combination of art, history, culture and of course, crayons.
And exploration comes to life with the messy, hands-on scientific fun of Adventure Science. One thing's for sure: kids will never be bored onboard.
“Thank you so much for being so patient with us. We had a great first cruise. Your advice was spot on especially with the dining package. ”
Whether hanging out with other cruisers or checking out the scene, games, sports and parties are on the agenda.
Exclusive tween- and teen-only spots from outdoor hangouts to clubs and arcades will quickly become their favorite place onboard.
The Teen Program also allows older kids the freedom to come and go as they please.
They'll love it so much, the only problem parents will have is getting them to leave!
