5 Things Disney World Needs to Fix Now

Small changes that would have a big impact on guest satisfaction.

Disney World is a great place to go on vacation, but there are some adjustments that Disney could make to improve guest satisfaction. Now, I’m not talking about big ideas that would take years to complete or require massive investments.

In my latest YouTube video, I present 5 realistic things that Disney can easily fix to improve guest satisfaction.

Watch this on YoutTube now >

#5 Gratuities With Disney Dining Plans

The Disney Dining Plans are back and even Free Dining has returned for select dates. The regular Disney Dining Plan includes Table Service Meals of course. It’s a nice way to make your vacation at Walt Disney World feel a little more all-inclusive. If you stick to just what your table service meal includes, you won’t have to pay out of pocket, you simply redeem your dining credits. But it doesn’t cover the gratuity for your server.

At the end of your meal, your server will bring you the bill with the cash total on it. You only have to pay for things you ordered that are not included on the dining plan. For me, this is rare. The total is provided to help you determine how much of a tip you should leave.

It would be so much easier if the gratuity was included as well. I personally never carry cash, especially in theme parks, I’m always afraid I’ll lose my wallet on a ride or leave it somewhere.

And charging your server’s gratuity to your credit card or Magic Band doesn’t seem right either.

I’m sure Disney doesn’t include gratuities so the cost of the dining plan seems cheaper. But I think Disney should borrow an idea from the cruise line industry where you have the option to prepay your gratuities in advance for the included meals. On a cruise ship, you simply get up and walk away when you're finished. All you have to do is show up and have a great time.

I find that most menu items are similarly priced so unless you want to split hairs on the total cost of the meal, the server should still make a decent tip. And in some cases, they may do better if the customer would otherwise be a lousy tipper.

The whole idea behind the Disney Dining Plan is to make it convenient for the guests. Disney knows you’re going to leave a tip, so why not just include it from the beginning?

# 4 Daily Housekeeping at Disney World

The trend of limited or even no housekeeping began across the hotel industry during the pandemic. But now it’s becoming the industry norm. I expect more from Walt Disney World, a company that prides itself on excellent guest service and often uses terms like the Disney Difference to demonstrate how they are better than other resorts.

To be fair, Universal Orlando has a similar policy and Royal Caribbean has cut housekeeping back to just once per day.

But when Disney cut daily housekeeping to every other day at its Value and Moderate Resorts, it made national news, as it often does. And housekeeping is limited to new towels and trash removal. I believe the term for this is now skimpflation.

Daily housekeeping is offered at Disney Deluxe Resorts which often hover around $750 per night. But room and ticket packages at a Moderate hotel can easily be $5,000 or more. For that kind of money, it would be nice if the bed was made.

Being pampered is part of the fun of staying in a hotel. It’s time to bring back daily housekeeping.

#3 Disney World Theme Park Hours

In recent years the Orlando theme parks have been closing earlier than in the pre-pandemic years. While Magic Kingdom often stays open until 10 or 11 pm, Epcot and  Disney’s Hollywood Studios often close at 9 pm. And Animal Kingdom can close as early as 6 pm. Universal Orlando is the same, sometimes closing both parks before 8 pm.

Epcot used to open in phases, first Future World, and then World Showcase would open at 11 am and often stay open until 10 pm or later. Today, the entire park opens at once. I would be ok with a phased opening if it means being in the parks later. Now the only way to stay in the Epcot later at night is to stay in a Deluxe hotel that includes a Monday night stay.

Being in the parks at night, especially in the summer months when afternoon temps are in the high 90s, is the only escape from the heat parkgoers have. And I think the parks are more fun at night.

#2 Seating at Disney’s Quick Service Restaurants

Remember when you had to be online at 6 am, 60-days in advance to make your dining reservations for Walt Disney World? Especially if you wanted Be Our Guest Restaurant.

Today, you can often get into Be Our Guest as a walk-up. Table service dining at Disney just isn’t as popular as it used to be. I still recommend making reservations 60-days in advance, but there is a lot more availability than in previous years.

Today, Disney World Quick-Service Dining is where it’s at. I think this is for two reasons.

  1. Quick-service meals are good! Disney has really upped its game here.

  2. Now that guests are paying for Genie+, they feel like they don’t have time for a lengthy table service meal or it might conflict with a Genie+ return time.

This means quick-service restaurants are crowded these days and it’s very hard to find a place to sit.

Disney has experimented with different ideas to help people find seats. A few years ago, Disney tested out a system where guests would enter a queue after they got their food. A Cast Member with a radio headset would talk to other Cast Members who were out scouting seats. I didn’t like having to wait in another line, but I knew I was going to get a table. At the Connections Eastery  at Epcot, Cast Members were only allowing people to sit at tables who had trays of food. This is loosely enforced today.

Disney needs to find a way to provide seating so guests are not meandering around with trays of food and balancing soft drinks with no lids - because Disney banned lids on cups. But that’s another show.

#1 Simplfy Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane

I’m aware that Disney Genie+ is a very controversial topic. I’m not here to say we should eliminate it and go back to paper Fastpass tickets, (but I know I’m not the only one who would love that!)

Disney could make a small change that would make a big difference. Why do we have 2 terms that describe the basically same thing? Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane. Have you heard a Cast Member trying to explain the difference between the two? Not to mention Individual Attraction Selection and Virtual Queus. And while we're at it, PhotoPass and Memory Maker too. This is straight from the Department of Redundancy Department

I think they should just call the whole thing Lightning Lane. Ultimately that’s what guests want. No one is buying Genie+ for the Photopass lenses, or the in-park audio features. Call it Lightning Lane and tell guests they get some free perks with it. And while we’re at it, Individual Attraction Selection doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue and it only refers to a handful of attractions. Can't that just be absorbed into Lightning Lane at this point? I seriously think the reason some people don’t visit Disney World is because Genie+ feels overwhelming to them.

I’m sure these 5 things won’t solve every issue, but I think these are some realistic changes Disney could make to enhance guest experiences at Walt Disney World Have something that Disney needs to fix?

Do you agree or disagree with my list?  Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Update: Summer House on the Lake at Disney Springs

Latest update on Disney World’s newest restaurant: Summer House on the Lake

Disney World’s newest restaurant is opening soon

Work on Summer House on The Lake, a new restaurant coming in “late 2023” to Disney Springs is nearing completion, at least on the exterior. A couple of weeks ago the exterior was nothing more than a steel frame.

It’s amazing how work gets done so fast after sitting partially completed for several years.

The eatery’s parent company, Lettuce Entertain You, is reporting that Summer House on the Lake is on schedule for a late 2023 opening.

I was able to catch a glimpse of the interior, it appears there is still much that needs to be done.

However, given how fast the exterior was assembled, it’s entirely possible crews could button up the interior in time.

According to the Disney Springs website, Summer House on the Lake will have flavorful salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and more at lunch and dinner. And on Saturdays and Sundays, delight in a special brunch menu.

Summer House will also feature an in-house bakery where guests will be able to enjoy a sweet finale to their meal Treats include freshly baked cookies, brownies, and other goodies.

In addition to the bakery, there will be a cookie bar, a dessert-focused market within this Summer House serving up freshly baked cookies and house-made pastries, wine, beer, handcrafted cocktails, nonalcoholic beverages, and more.

Summer House on the Lake is located on the west side of Disney Springs, near the AMC movie theater. Stay tuned for more updates.

4 Easy Ways to go from Orlando International Airport to Disney World

Getting to Walt Disney World from Orlando International Airport. Pros and cons to popular options.

In this guide I’ll help you choose the best way to get from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World, and back again. Every day I work with clients who need assistance planning their Walt Disney World vacation. Ground transfers is one of the areas where clients need the most help.

If I can help you too, contact me here to start planning today.

Guide to Ground Transfers and Airport Transportation at Walt Disney World

In this article:

  • Shared shuttles (Mears, Sunshine Flyer)

  • Private car/van service

  • Using Uber Lyft at Disney World

  • Rental cars

Orlando Shared Shuttles

Sunshine Flyer Shuttle Service

A shared shuttle service between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World Resort and is the most economical ground transfer option.

Pros:

  • Inexpensive

  • Great customer service

  • New buses, professional staff

Cons:

  • The slowest option, takes 90 minutes or more.

  • Buses do not run 24 hrs. Can be an issue for early/late flights

  • Buses depart from Terminal B only, internal airport shuttle may be required.

Shuttles operate between 7:30 am and 11 pm. If you have an early or late flight, I recommend a different option.

Shuttles depart only from Terminal B. If you are using the new Terminal C (as with most JetBlue flights) you will need to take a shuttle that operates beween the two terminals. While not a major inconvenience, it takes time.

Sunshine Flyer prices change all the time and limited time promos are often available. You can expect to pay:

  • $12 - $17 per adult

  • $12.50 per child (age 3-9)

Sunshine Flyer Direct

A private transfer service, like a town car or van, that runs direct between Terminals A, B and C at Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World. Offers a wide array of vehicles from sedans to 10-passenger vans.

Pros:

  • Fast, direct service from any terminal at Orlando International Airport.

  • Driver helps with luggage.

  • 24 hour availability - ideal for early and late flights.

  • Car seats are available upon request

Cons:

  • Higher rates than other car services in Orlando.

  • Airport fees are not included in the price

  • A free grocery stop not offered as with many Orlando car services.

Fares start around $130 for a sedan. Additional fees are tacked on to cover required airport service fees. A driver gratuity of 20% is not included but recommended.

Private Town Car and Vans

Travel direct between Orlando International Airport and Sanford-Orlando Airport to Walt Disney World, Disney area hotels, and Universal Orlando. They also make runs to Port Canaveral. Many will include a free grocery stop after pick up from the airport.

Pros:

  • 24 hour service, fast and direct.

  • Professional drivers who assist with luggage

  • Will pick up from any terminal at the airport

  • Airport fees are included in the price.

  • Car seats are available upon request

Cons:

  • Significant flight delays may cause issues with driver availability

  • Costs more than shared shuttles

Tiffany Towncar is my recommended car service. I have worked with them for years and my clients love them. They include a free 20-minute grocery stop (must be noted on your reservation).

Tiffany opearates a variety of vehicles from town cars to SUVs to executive vans.

A sample fare for a sedan is $95 each way. A driver gratuity of 20% is not included but recommended.

RideShares - Uber and Lyft in Orlando

Use your phone to request a ride from Uber or Lyft. No advance reservations are required offer you the most flexibility with your schedule.

Pros

  • Fast, direct service

  • Plenty of availability in Orlando including SUVs and vans

  • Pick up from any terminal at Orlando International Airport

  • Car seats can be requested

  • Go anywhere in Orlando, even Universal and Port Canaveral.

Cons

  • Surge pricing often in effect in Orlando

  • Fares may change when there’s heavy traffic.

  • Somewhat confusing menu of vehicle types and services (like requesting car seats).

Uber and Lyft at Walt Disney World

Uber and Lyft are by far the easiest way to get around Orlando. If you’re comfortable using ride shares, this is an excellent way to go.

Fares are typically in the $60 - $80 range (each way).

Car Rentals in Orlando

Add a rental car to your Walt Disney World for competitive rates.

Pros:

  • Rental rates are competitive in Orlando

  • Free parking at Disney World hotels and theme parks (when staying at a Disney World hotel).

  • Disney has Alamo and Enterprise on property and a free shuttle to Disney World hotels.

  • Travel protection purchased from Disney covers your rental car in most situations.

Cons:

  • You could have a long walk when parking at the theme parks.

  • Fees are charged if you return the vehicle to a different location than where you rented it.

Booking a rental car through Disney offers a competitive rate and the convenience of having it listed in your travel plans. You can choose to rent from Orlando International Airport or one of the onsite offices at Walt Disney World.

You can also book a car on your own of course. For tips, see my article, How to Save Money on Car Rentals in Orlando.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside Tour

Photo Tour of Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort

Resort Summary

There are two sections to Port Orleans Resort Riverside. The stately white-column mansions of Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou’s quaint backwoods cottages. Both are located in a picturesque setting that evokes the romance of rural Louisiana.

The Sassagoula River connects Port Orleans Riverside to Disney Springs, Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort.

Arrival and Lobby Areas

Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside is a Moderate category hotel. Disney moderates have one central hub for dining, check in and bell services. Rooms are accessible via exterior corridors.

The design of lobby at Port Orleans Riverside is inspired by the classic riverboat terminals of the American south. Around the ceiling you’ll see names of the cities the steamboats travel to.

Online check in is a popular option these days, cutting down on the need to check in at the desk.

Using your Disney World mobile app, you can check in to Port Orleans Riverside in advance. You’ll receive a text message with your room number when it’s ready. Standard check in service is also available if you prefer.

Video Tour

Inside the lobby you’ll see a seating area, where passengers might wait for their steamboat (or Uber) to arrive. If you look closely at the richly polished wood floor and you’ll notice a beautiful compass rose inlay, made by hand.

Fresh floral arrangements are a staple in many of the Walt Disney World lobbies.

Room Categories

There are 2,050 rooms at Port Orleans Riverside located in 2 and 3 story buildings with exterior corridors.

The majority of rooms have 2 queen beds that can sleep up to 4 guests but there are several variations, including 5th sleeper rooms and Royal Rooms.

Many rooms have connecting doors. Requests for connecting doors cannot be guaranteed unless two rooms are booked with a parent in each room. Ask me how to arrange this for you when requesting your quote.

Port Orleans Riverside Room Categories

(in order of nightly rate, least to greatest)

  • Standard View

  • Standard View 5th Sleeper

  • Woods View

  • Woods View 5th Sleeper

  • Pool View (some have 5th sleepers. If you have a party of 5 and book Pool View, you will get a room with the 5th sleeper).

  • King Bed rooms

  • River View

  • Preferred Room (close to main lobby)

  • Royal Room - Standard View

  • Royal Room - River View

  • Royal Room - Woods View

Rooms have curtains that divide the vanity area from the rest of the room. There’s a door separating the water closet, bathtub and shower. This makes it possible for multiple people to get ready at the same time.

Pet Friendly Rooms

Port Orleans Riverside is a pet friendly hotel. Rooms designated as pet friendly are only used for guests who have pets. If you’re not traveling with a pet, you will not be assigned a pet friendly room. These rooms are also located in a designated area of the hotel complex.

Pets may also be boarded at the Best Friends Pet Care Center located across the street.

5th Sleeper Rooms

5th Sleeper rooms have the same layout as a standard room, either two queen beds or 1 king bed, and include a Murphy-style bed that folds down. The Murphy bed is ideal for children up to age 10.

Royal Rooms

Located in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort, Royal Rooms have a Disney Princess theme. These rooms are the furthest away from the lobby but Disney is hoping you love the theme so much, that you won’t mind the extra walk.

There is a bus depot nearby so it’s not necessary to walk to the lobby for transportation.

There are 2 sections to Port Orleans Riverside, Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou. While it’s not possible to select which section your room is located in, I am able to note requests on your reservation.

The biggest difference between the two sections is theme. Magnolia Bend represents the manor houses of deep south with manicured lawns and plantings. Buildings have 2 and 3 stories with exterior corridors.

Alligator Bayou is made up of 2-story, rustic lodges with with shady gardens and pathways.

Port Orleans Riverside - Magnolia Bend

Yes! If you have a MagicBand from a previous trip to Walt Disney World, you will be able to use it even after the newer model has been released.

You’ll be able to use older MagicBands to enter the theme parks, pay for merchandise and dining, and for Disney PhotoPass.

What can we do with our luggage if we have a late departing flight?

How to store luggage at Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World

Your departure day at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando can still be a day in the parks, so book that later flight! Especially if your coming down for a long weekend.

On your departure day, you’ll need to check out of your hotel room by 11 am. Both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando hotels will gladly store your luggage for you.

Simply call Bell Services from your room and let them know you would like your bags stored.

Alternatively you can bring your bags down to the bell desk if you prefer not to wait for a bellhop to arrive at your room.

A gratuity of about $2 per bag is customary when dropping your bags off and when picking them up again.

If you have any items that need to be refrigerated, just let them know which bags need to be kept cold.

You can also store your luggage the at the theme parks. Visit the area where they rent strollers and scooters.

By the way, this also works on your arrival day. If you’re room is not ready by the time you arrive, just store your bags at the bell desk and start your vacation right away!

Disney World's 3rd Generation Magic Bands, Hey Disney! and Dining Plans Delayed

What happened to Hay Disney, the Disney Dining Plans, and 3rd Generation Magic Bands?

There are many great experiences returning to Walt Disney World Resort like being able to hug the characters again, daytime parades, and entertainment but there are still a number of projects that were promised in “early 2022” that we don’t talk about anymore.

3rd Third Generation Magic Bands

3rd Generation Magic Bands

At the Destination D23 event in November, Josh D'Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products shared some new things we could look forward to in 2022 during a high-energy presentation, complete with characters and Cast Members joining him on stage. To anyone who was in the room, it was incredibly inspiring.

While more experiences and opportunities are coming back very soon (I’m looking at you Minnie Vans) I can’t help but notice that some “early 2022” items seem to have fallen off the radar.

We are halfway through April so I think it’s fair to say it’s not “early 2021” anymore.

Hey Disney Amazon Echo

Hey Disney! Amazon Echo Device

Hey Disney!

In November 2021, we learned that Hey Disney! is going to be a unique version of Amazon Echo.

Also Hey Disney! devices were to be installed in 30,000 hotel rooms across Walt Disney World in early 2022 plus they could be purchased for home use.

Hey Disney! would be able to handle requests, such as asking for more towels or requesting Bell Services.

Hey Disney! would answer questions about your Disney World hotel, give you Disney transportation tips and wait times, provide park hours, tell you what time the fireworks would be at Magic Kingdom and more.

I was supposed to receive a complimentary home version of Hey Disney! but it never arrived. Recently I sent an email to Disney asking when it might be sent out. The Cast Member explained that the project is delayed but will be available sometime in 2022.

The Return of the Disney Dining Plans

Last August, Disney World sent an email to travel agents stating that the Disney Dining Plans would be returning “soon.” I don’t know how Disney defines “soon” but I assume 8+ months could be considered soon by some comparisons.

I believe Disney wants to offer this product again but there are a still a number of operational concerns that need to be addressed.

Not all the restaurants at Disney World have reopened and most are still not operating at full capacity due to staffing issues. This is why it has been somewhat difficult to secure dining reservations.

At Epcot alone, we’re still waiting for Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway, Takumi-Tei Restaurant in Japan, Monsieur Paul in France, and Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco to reopen. Hopefully as the Cultural Representatives begin to arrive this summer, these restaurants will reopen…um…soon!

Staff shortages are still a major factor but I’m not so sure Disney is in a hurry to hire more people right now.

Currently the demand for leisure travel is very high. But if the economy makes a downward trend, Disney World could easily be over staffed in 2023.

There are a few more issues that need to be addressed before the Disney Dining Plans can be brought back. But let’s hope they come back “soon.”

Magic Band third generation

3rd Generation Magic Bands

On September 30, 2021 we learned that 3rd generation Magic Band would be arriving at Walt Disney World in early 2022. If you have been paying attention to this article, you know how that went!

Last fall I began advising my clients who booked 2022 travel to hold off on purchasing Magic Bands in anticipation of the 3rd generation bands being released.

Generation 3 Magic Bands are pretty cool, I had a chance to see a test band in action. They come alive at various times as you move about the parks and resorts with color-changing lights, haptic vibrations and gesture recognition.

These wristbands will allow you to engage in new interactive experiences resort-wide. There is no official word on when they will be introduced at Walt Disney World. I just know they’re running late.

As always, stay tuned to OrlandoParksGuy.com/blog for more information about Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean.

Character Greetings Returning to Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line

Soon you can hug the Disney characters again in Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line

Everyday someone sends an email asking me when they can hug Disney characters again. The wait is almost over! Character greetings are returning to Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line as early as April 18, 2022.

The official announcement was released today from the Walt Disney Company:

As early as April 18, we will start reintroducing traditional character greetings at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, as well as aboard Disney Cruise Line and at Aulani Resort in Hawaii. Very soon, Guests will once again be able to hug Mickey Mouse, get an autograph from Mulan, and share a laugh with Goofy. We know many of you have missed these special moments, and your Disney character friends have missed you, too!

During the past two years, we’ve taken a very gradual, intentional approach to health and safety protocols. Recent trends and guidance have provided opportunities for us to bring back some of our most beloved magic, like character greetings and dining experiences. While not all locations will be available immediately, we anticipate reopening in phases throughout the spring and early summer.

A Disney World Must-Do - Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park!

Wild Africa Trek is one of the best tours available at Walt Disney World. Here are some of the highlights from my recent expedition at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Wild Africa Trek is back at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and my son and I were among the first to head out on the trail.

This is one of the most popular guided tours offered at Walt Disney World Resort because it allows you to get up close to the animals.

Wild Africa Trek is a three hour adventure that takes you on foot and by truck through hidden trails, suspension bridges, and scenic overlooks.

You’ll also make a stop for lunch right in the middle of the savanna and enjoy breathtaking views of the animals.

We had an amazing time on this tour, it was worth every penny and although the animals were spectacular, it was our guides that really made this tour special.

They were truly excited to take us out on the savanna. It’s obvious that they really love the animals and and doing these tours.

Below you can view some of my favorite parks of Wild Africa Trek. If you have any questions about the tour, use the comments section below, I’d be happy to answer them.

If you have a reservation booked with me and would like to include Wild Africa Trek in your itinerary, please send me an email, I’ll show you some options.

Wild Africa Trek, Good to know:

Wild Africa Trek requires reservations.

The cost of the tour ranges from $185 - $250 per person, depending on the time and date you choose.

There are usually 2 -3 tours offered daily. To book a tour, contact your travel agent or visit the Disney World website (disneyworld.com).

Separate Valid Admission and Park Reservation for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is required.

Guests must be at least 8 years of age to attend this experience.

Due to height restrictions for specific areas during the tour, participants must meet the minimum height requirement of 48 inches (122 cm) or may not participate.

Due to weight restrictions for specific areas during the tour, participants must weigh between 45 and 300 lbs (20.14-136 kg) or may not participate.

Land and Sea Summer Vacay in Orlando

August deals on Royal Caribbean from Orlando (Port Canaveral, Florida) are available now

Earlier this week I shared that Disney Cruise Line is sold out for summer sailings. But it’s not too late! Go Royal Caribbean out of Port Canaveral and save big. Port Canaveral is less than an hour away from the Orlando theme parks and airport.

Tip #1 - Take Advantage of Royal Caribbean Offers in August

The cruise lines want your business. Obviously they have been hit hard by the pandemic plus they are recovering from a period of highly restrictive and confusing CDC regulations.

Perfect Day at Coco Cay - Royal Caribbean Cruise Line from Port Canaveral

The cruise lines have every reason to ensure guests are safe onboard. An outbreak on one ship, any ship, would be disastrous for the entire industry. No one wants that.

All of the major cruise lines have exceeded the CDC guidelines and have proven they can sail safely.

As the industry struggles to recover, the cruise lines are offering amazing discounts.

This is your opportunity to enjoy the family vacation of a lifetime, for less. This means you can do even more.

Take a look at these rates for August 2022 using Royal Caribbean’s latest promotion:

Port Canaveral (Orlando) - Oasis of the Seas - Royal Caribbean

Oasis of the Seas | Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean August Sailings from Port Canaveral, Florida*

August 1, 2022 - 4 night sailing from $433 per person

August 4, 2022 - 4 night sailing from $233 per person

August 5, 2022 - 3 night sailing from $318 per person

August 8, 2022 - 5 night sailing from $313 per person

August 12, 2022 - 3 night sailing from $309 per person

August 15, 2022 - 4 night sailing from $349 per person

August 19, 2022 - 3 night sailing from $309 per person

August 22, 2022 - 4 night sailing from $339 per person

August 26, 2022 - 3 night sailing from $288 per person

Tip 2: Visit the Orlando Theme Parks

You’ll be in Orlando anyway, so why not plan a visit to Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando?

I help clients everyday plan Land and Sea vacations in Orlando. A 3 or 4 night cruise on Royal Caribbean plus 3 or 4 nights at the Orlando theme parks is a great vacation.

Everyday I work with clients who trust me show them how to book a Land and Sea vacation. Put my experience to work

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line offers a family-focused vacation experience just like Disney Cruise Line. Actually, Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at Coco Cay, usually gets higher marks than Disney’s Castaway Cay Island.

Now is the best time to begin planning your summer vacation. Cruise fares will increase as the sail date gets closer. Those who book early save the most.

*Price is per person, in USD, for cruise only on select sailings and stateroom categories, based on double-occupancy, reflects any promotional savings, and is subject to change and availability. Taxes, fees, and port expenses are additional. Bookings made under the Non-Refundable Deposit Program are subject to a  100 USD cancellation or change fee per guest. Price includes non-commissionable cruise fare. Additional restrictions apply, including the terms and conditions of any promotions and pricing programs. © 2019 Royal Caribbean. Right now you can use the current deposit policy at Disney Cruise Line to your advantage when you add a Walt Disney World Land and Sea package to your cruise.

Disney Cruise Line Travel Hack - Walt Disney World Land and Sea Packages

Yes, “Disney World Land and Sea packages” are still offered but they are now called “Disney Cruise Line Add-on Packages.” I still like to say Land and Sea (I’m old school).

You can also take advantage of select cruises currently being offered at a discount. Discount promotions from Disney Cruise Line are extremely rare, so take advantage of it while you can!

In short, here’s how the deposit hack works:

  1. Book your Disney Cruise with me by March 11, 2022, and you’ll automatically get 50% off the required deposit.

  2. Include a Walt Disney World room and ticket package to your Disney cruise. You can visit Walt Disney World before or after your cruise, it’s your choice.

  3. No additional deposit will be required for the Walt Disney World portion of your vacation when booked as part of your Disney cruise. You only pay the Disney Cruise Line Deposit and you’re getting 50% off!

50% Off Disney Cruise Line Deposits

Disney Cruise Line is allowing guests to book now and pay only half of the required deposit. To use this offer, you must book your cruise by March 11, 2022.

This offer is valid on select cruises sailing between June 18, 2022 and May 31, 2023, that do not require full payment at time of booking.

Remaining balance will be due at time of final payment.

walt Disney World - Land and Sea Package

Port Canaveral is about an hour away from Disney World. Disney provides coach bus transportation for a small fee.

Many clients often book a 3 or 4 night Bahamas Cruise on the Disney Dream followed by 3 or 4 nights at Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll have 2 vacations in one week.

The normal Walt Disney World package deposit is $200. But when you book as a Disney Cruise Line add-on package, no additional deposit is required.

For over 12 years I have been helping clients plan Disney World Land and Sea packages from Florida. My clients enjoy:

  • The best available rates offered by Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney World.

  • A Disney cruise onboard credit to be used towards upgraded dining, alcoholic beverages, excursions, spa treatments, souvenirs and more.

  • Expert advice and recommendations

  • Excellent customer service. I’m your personal account manager from planning to payments.
