Room Tour: Bay Lake Tower Deluxe Studio
Guide to Deluxe Studios at Bay Lake Tower
Recently I had an opportunity to stay in a Deluxe Studio at one of my favorite hotels: Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Bay Lake Tower is a Disney Vacation Club Resort here at Walt Disney World, but rooms are also available to the general public.
Bay Lake Tower, part of Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World.
Bay Lake Tower is part of Disney’s Contemporary Resort just outside Magic Kingdom. Here you’ll find Deluxe Studios, and 1, 2,and 3 Bedroom Villas. In this guide, we’ll tour a Deluxe Studio.
Bay Lake Tower - Deluxe Studio
Deluxe Studios come with a kitchenette, a queen size bed, a double size pull out sofa and a balcony.
Studios sleep up to 4 adults. Standard rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort sleep up to 5 adults.
There are three types of room views: Standard View, Lake View and Theme Park view rooms are offered.
Bay Lake Tower - Deluxe Studio
The queen bed is very comfortable, on par with other Deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World. The pull out sofa, is decent and easy to set up and put away.
There’s a small table in the room, similar to what you’d find a Disney World Deluxe hotel room. Seating for for 2, but you can also utilize the sofa and ottoman for additional space.
Bay Lake Tower - Deluxe Studio
Deluxe Studios often cost less that a standard room at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Plus, your even closer to Magic Kingdom. You can walk to Magic Kingdom in under 10 minutes.
Bay Lake Tower - Deluxe Studio - Kitchen
The galley kitchen has plenty of storage, a coffee maker, microwave and a small refrigerator - bigger than a mini-fridge but smaller than a regular fridge.
Bay Lake Tower - Deluxe Studio - Kitchen
There is so much storage in this kitchen it made me want to cook something! Check out the pantry that just slides out. I need one of those at home. You’ll also find a toaster, plates, bowls, utensils and paper cups.
Bay Lake Tower - Deluxe Studio - Kitchen
Bathrooms in the Bay Lake Tower Studios are bigger than you might expect but only one person can get ready at a time.
Bay Lake Tower - Deluxe Studio - Bathroom
We had a lake view room on a top floor. The view of Bay Lake were spectacular. We could actually see I-Drive, Icon Park and Universal Orlando from up here.
Rooms on the other side of the hallway overlook the Magic Kingdom.

3 Hidden References You'll Find on Test Track at Epcot
3 hidden references you’ll find on Test Track at Epcot
#3
When Imagineers created Test Track at Epcot, they included a few hidden references to the former attraction, World of Motion, plus they give a little nod to Walt Disney’s original plan for Epcot.
World of Motion ran from 1982 to 1996 at Epcot.
World of Motion was an opening-day attraction, a slow-moving dark ride based on the history (and future) of transportation. It was sponsored by GM and featured animatronic figures, similar to Spaceship Earth today. It also had a catchy theme song, It’s Fun to Be Free - remember that now because it’s important later on!
In 1999, Test Track replaced World of Motion as a high speed thrill ride but used the same show building.
Did you know Test Track is the fastest ride in Walt Disney World? It reaches speeds of 65 mph.
Test Track 2.0
In 2012, Test Track underwent a refurbishment, same track, different theme - Test Track 2.0 you could say. That’s when some pretty cool references to World of Motion began to appear.
The original logo for World of Motion from the 1980s (credit Walt Disney Co.)
In the 1980s each Epcot pavilion had its own circular logo.
Look carefully around Test Track and you might spot the original World of Motion logo cleverly hidden in a few places.
World of Motion logo found on Test Track exit signs.
The World of Motion logo can be found on numerous signs around the pavilion like here on this exit sign, just as you get off the ride.
World of Motion logo hidden in plain sight inside Test Track.
The trash cans at Disney World are great aren’t they? I even have a few miniature versions in my office. There’s no detail too small at Disney World, and the trash cans are great proof of that!
Here we can see World of Motion logo on the Test Track trash cans.
The Epcot logos are actually making a comeback as part of the park’s transformation project. Each of the FutureWorld pavilions will be represented by a circular icon once again and it appears Test Track will adopt World of Motion’s logo.
#2
My favorite part of Test Track is when the doors open, the car blasts outside and picks up speed. Next time you’re on the ride, see if you notice 2 road signs on your left, just after you exit the show building.
First road sign on Test Track, referencing the original plans for Epcot Center.
The first sign shows a small cityscape, likely a reference to Walt Disney’s original plan for Epcot.
Walt Disney’s plan for his Florida project was to build an actual, futuristic city called Epcot, or Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.
Part of Walt’s plan was to showcase the future of transportation by having separate roadways for cars and trucks, and a monorail system.
You’ll find another reference to Walt Disney’s Epcot just after the brake tests inside the pavilion. There’s a model of a futuristic city on your left. Even World of Motion had a model city inside, that was probably a nod to Walt’s version of Epcot too.
Model of a futuristic city inside Test Track references the original plan for Epcot.
If you want to see part of Walt Disney’s actual model of Epcot, take a ride on the PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom Park.
Now, scroll up to look at that road sign again. See the reference?
A small part of Walt Disney’s model of Epcot, seen on the PeopleMover ride at Magic Kingdom Park.
#1
The second sign you pass says, “FN2BFRE” or “Fun to Be Free.” This is a reference to the World of Motion theme song, “it’s fun to be free.”
Want to hear it? Click here. But fair warning, it’s could stick in your head for a bit!
If you have a secret about Test Track or any other attraction at Walt Disney World, share in the comments below or on social media!

June and July are considered peak seasons so fares are significantly higher than August and September.
Disney Cruise Line fares skyrocket anytime schools are on recess, mainly summer and major holidays like Christmas and Easter. Spring Break is a factor too but not all communities have the same week off from school.
Hint: Disney Cruise Line pays particular attention to spring break schedules in New York, Georgia and Texas.
Some of the cheapest months to take a Disney Cruise are September, October and November but there’s a catch.
Late August through November is hurricane season in the Caribbean which can disrupt cruise itineraries or even cause cancellations. But this is one of most popular times to book a cruise and you can save big.
If your cruise is impacted by a storm, your travel advisor will help you reschedule your cruise.

Face coverings are now optional in some settings at Walt Disney World Resort. In short, you can drop the mask while you’re in outdoor common areas such as Main Street U.S.A at Magic Kingdom and World Showcase at Epcot, and pretty much all of Animal Kingdom!

Here’s an easy guide that shows when masks are required and when they are optional at Disney World.

Disney World Updated Social Distancing Policy
Disney World updates social distancing policy
Recently I shared that Florida had approved an update to social distancing from 6ft to 3ft. While Universal Orlando was quick to make the change, Disney World took a more careful approach.
But it now appears that Disney World is going to make the change to 3ft. physical distancing as well.
According the Walt Disney World website, "Temporary adjustments are still in place to promote physical distancing. While we will reduce physical distancing measures for Guests across many areas with a gradual, phased approach, six-feet distancing measures will continue in all dining locations, merchandise stores and in areas where Guests can temporarily remove their masks."
What this really means is that Disney World can increase park capacity. If they cut social distancing in half, Disney can double the amount of people they allow into each theme park.
So it appears that there will be more people in the parks soon but no word on the return of FastPass.
We also know that CEO Bob Chapek is looking to make changes to Disney World’s mask requirements by this summer, in accordance with new CDC guidelines. You can read more about Chapek hinting at a mask update here.
Last week, theme park capacity has increased in all 4 Walt Disney World parks. It is now possible to remove your mask while taking photos outdoors at Walt Disney World as well.

Disney CEO: Park Capacity Increased - Hints at New Mask Policy for Disney World
Park capacity at Walt Disney World has increased. Mask policy update coming soon.
Yesterday Bob Chapek, CEO of the Walt Disney Company, shared that theme park capacity has already been increased at the Walt Disney World theme parks, given new guidance from the CDC. Last week I shared that there was a sudden increase in park capacity on the Park Pass website.
Chapek also acknowledged that wearing masks in Florida during the summer months is not ideal. On his last earnings call, he made a comment that masks would likely be required through January. But there have a been a lot of improvements since then. Yesterday he said this:
“Obviously today's guidance that we got from the CDC, in terms of those that were vaccinated, do not necessarily need to wear masks anymore, both outdoors and indoors. This is very big news for us, particularly if anybody's been in Florida in the middle of the summer with a mask on. That could be quite daunting. So we think that's going to make for an even more pleasant experience.”
There will be updates today from the State of Florida and Orange County regarding the new CDC guidelines. I think Disney World will have an updated mask policy sooner than originally expected.
Starting May 18th, temperature screenings at the theme parks and Disney Springs will be terminated.
Being the in the theme park industry, I’m aware of that many parks around the country have already dropped the requirement to wear a mask for those who have been vaccinated.
Hershey Park’s website now states, “Consistent with updated guidance from Pennsylvania and the CDC, face coverings and social distancing for guests who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required.”

"Disney After Hours BOO BASH" What We Know So Far
Halloween-themed Disney After Hours BOO BASH events coming to Magic Kingdom Park this fall
Even more big news from Walt Disney World this week, Disney After Hours Boo Bash will take place on select nights August 10 to October 31, 2021 at Magic Kingdom Park. This is a Disney After Hours Event, not to be confused with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
“Disney After Hours BOO BASH” will take place on select nights, Aug. 10-Oct. 31, from 9 p.m. to midnight
In the past, Disney After Hours events have been very popular and sell out fast. After Hours parties are special themed events and open to a limited number of guests.
Tickets for Disney After Hours Boo Bash will go on sale in June 2021.
More than 20 Magic Kingdom attractions will be operating and due to the limited number of tickets sold, you can enjoy them with less wait.
But I find there are so many other activities to enjoy, the attractions are secondary to the overall experience.

Disney After Hours Boo Bash

How Disney World and Universal are Relaxing Restrictions
Disney World and Universal are beginning to make adjustments to COVID-19 restrictions as conditions improve in Central Florida.
If you have been following along with me you might have gotten the sense that some of the COVID restrictions would be changing at Walt Disney World. I also hinted that we might be getting some updates in May and June and so far that has happened at least once. Last night Disney World and Universal Orlando announced that temperature screenings would halt starting May 16, 2021.
Yours truly having my temperature checked at Disney Springs - Walt Disney World. Temperature screenings will end on May 16, 2021.
Orlando officials say that temperature screenings in Central Florida are now a waste of resources when considering the current COVID data.
This is terrific news especially for Disney Springs where the lines for temperature screenings were incredibly long.
I’ve been in the parks every week since July, and I saw only one person get flagged at the temperature check. It was me!
I ran a few miles just prior to going to Epcot and then parked far away on an extremely hot August day. The heat from the parking lot got me. But I was escorted to a cooling tent and I was good to go after a few minutes. So embarrassing!
Universal Orlando Reduces Physical Distancing
Universal Orlando shared that it will reduce physical distancing to 3 feet, essentially going back to the way things were. Most people naturally provide a little space when standing in line anyway. So I’d say physical distancing is pretty much over.
But this is very significant because when the parks cut the distance in half, they can double park capacity.
The state of Florida has already granted permission for both, Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World to open at 100% capacity but neither resort has been able to do so yet. Not with a 6ft distancing mandate.
Some of the lines stretch way out into the parks in a confusing maze of switchbacks. There would be no way to manage lines at 6ft. distancing with increased capacity. The lines would snake around the theme parks.
I think Disney will go to 3ft distancing soon and that both resorts will increase capacity by summer.
Do you really think Disney World is going to kick off it’s 50th anniversary in October at 35% capacity? I highly doubt it.
Masks at Walt Disney World:
Disney has been a little more relaxed in general. Just a few months ago, if you were even just thinking about adjusting your mask, a Cast Member would instantly materialize from the bushes and tell you to wear it correctly. I don’t see that happening as much these days.
The Cast Members who were once tasked with patrolling the parks for mask compliance, while dressed as cheerleaders of course, are a rare sight now.
Masks are still very much required and 99% of the people follow the rules on their own anyway.
Disney World is now allowing guests to remove masks for photos as long as they are outside and standing still. This was a game changer and it really makes people happy.
Fireworks at the Walt Disney World?
While we have no official date on when fireworks will return, Disney World is now selling Fireworks View rooms at Wilderness Lodge beginning in early July.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney brings back fireworks for July 4th.
I have a lot of clients who are fireworks or die people and will not come to Disney World until they return. I’m sure Disney is aware of this and wants to get these going again soon. But it likely doesn’t make financial sense when parks are at 35% capacity.
But if Disney goes to 3ft. distancing, which is very likely, and then increases capacity as a result, we might have a pretty good chance of watching fireworks over Cinderella Castle once again.

Understanding Disney's Latest Room Offer
Every Disney World has a little catch. This one is no different.
Yesterday Disney removed the 2-free ticket days offer and issued a room discount with nearly identical dates - running from July 11 - September 29, 2021. The discounts range from 10% to 25% on select Disney World hotel rooms. You can read more about this offer here.
Walt Disney World offers always have a little catch and this one is no different.
Yesterday Price-Watch was running to see if this offer could be applied to my clients’ existing reservations and to see if it works out better than the ticket offer.
I noticed that this particular room discount appears to be targeting upgraded room categories such as Preferred Rooms, Pool View, Courtyard View, Theme Park View and so on. There are more opportunities to save on these upgraded categories than on Standard View rooms.
The room discount favors upgraded room categories.
For example, if you already booked a Standard View room, you can upgrade to a Courtyard View room and apply the discount, but your package price will cost more.
This room discount favors upgraded room categories
In the above example, my client is already booked in a Standard VIew room at rack rate. To take advantage of the room discount, they would need to upgrade to a Courtyard View room. Even with the discount, the total package price would be more. It’s a good deal if you want to stay in a room with a nicer view, otherwise its best to keep the reservation as-is.
When I see rooms offers work this way, it usually means Disney needs to unload the more expensive rooms. Standard Views rooms are likely selling well but there isn’t enough interest in the higher priced rooms.
I’m also noticing that there are numerous blockout dates which tells me that Disney knows exactly where it needs more heads in beds.
Disney will release the broad offer dates but not the individual dates that the offer is blocked out.
So, finding a range of dates when the offer is valid, is really hit or miss.
If there’s at least 1 night that’s blocked out in your travel dates, the entire range of dates will show as unavailable. So you might have to be flexible and search different combinations of dates and resorts to take advantage of this offer. Or you can ask me to do it for you!
My clients trust me to find them the best available rate and to help make sense out of these offers when they are released.

First Look: Disney's Newest Hotel - The Swan Reserve
Another update on the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve Hotel.
More details have become available for the Disney World’s newest hotel. The official name will be “The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve.” Is it just me or does Disney choose very long names for hotels? I’m looking at you “Villas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Kadiani Village.”
Marriott , who will operrate The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve sent me detailed images of the hotel’s interior so I thought it would be fun to share them with you.
No word yet on rates or discounts and reservations are not yet available.
As with most Disney World hotels, room rates will be based on view with an almost overwhelming number of options. Disney World management has been very good at optimizing rates based on ever single hotel room’s view. If the room has even the slightest view of something other than a tree, they will charge more for it.
Room Categories at The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve:
Traditional View
Traditional Epcot View
Traditional Hollywood Studios View
Pool View
Signature View
Signature Epcot View
Signature Hollywood Studios View
Signature Pool View
The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve will have 200 standard guest rooms and 150 suites. Suites can accommodate families of 6-10 people.
Guests staying at this hotel can walk to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot, and of course Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf.
I feel like Fantasia Gardens will soon become a pool or a parking lot. It’s sits on prime real estate and I can’t imagine Disney still thinks this is best use of the property.
Above: The Swan Reserve as of late April 2021. Expected opening date is “July 2021.” It stands at 15 stories tall, similar to Disney’s Contemporary Resort but not nearly as big.
This will be the view from the Walt DIsney World Swan and Dolphin hotels which are across the street.
This is the view from World Drive, one of the main routes through Walt Disney World. If you’re on on world drive, you definitely can’t miss it.
Swan Reserve will feature a modern entrance and lobby with a gold, teal and grey color pallet. You’ll notice this color scheme throughout the resort, even in the guest rooms.
Standard rooms will have two queen beds or 1 king bed. King bed rooms will also have a daybed. Walt Disney World Dolphin rooms have 2 double beds and the Walt Disney World Swan rooms have two queen beds.
Standard room with two queen beds. The Swan Reserve will have 15 floors, 200 rooms and 150 suites.
King bed room with traditional view, king bed. The king bed / daybed combo is also utilized at the Four Seasons - Walt Disney World. It works well! With one bed tucked away, you’ll have a lot more space.
Swan Reserve family suite entrance, dining space and living room.
Family suites, depending on size, will sleep between 6 and 10 guests.
Swan Reserve suite living room. Rooms have a teal and gold theme. The teal greens tie in with the exterior colors used on the Swan and Dolphin hotels plus these colors will be used in the public spaces.
Suite - master bedroom
Suites will feature a spit bath so multiple people can get ready at the same time. I love the clean look of the tile floors, bright lighting the raised sink.
Guests will be able to enjoy a lounge and coffee bar, yet to be named.
Table service dining will be at the Mediterranean Restaurant.
Mediterranean Restaurant will be Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The pool at Swan Reserve will include a poolside outdoor covered restaurant and bar.
Stay tuned for more updates, I expect to have rates and availability within the next few weeks. As soon as I can get inside the actual hotel, I’ll post the photos here on the SAVEatWDW.com Blog.

Orlando Changes Social Distancing + Updates Mask Policy
Orlando
Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings provided updates to Orlando’s mask and social distancing mandates and outlined a 3-phase plan as to when masks may no longer be needed.
The first phase, which starts today, calls for a change in social distancing from 6 feet to 3 feet in all settings.
Phase 2 will go into effect when 50% of Orlando’s population, age 16 and older, has received the first dose of the vaccine. Face covering mandates for outdoors will be lifted for everyone at that time.
Orlando is on track to reach Phase 2 in about 3 weeks.
Phase 3 begins when 70% of the population age 16 and older has received their first dose of the vaccine or Orlando’s 14-day rolling positivity rate is 5% or below.
In Phase 3, all mandates will be lifted. Mask buring party at my house!
Currently the positivity rate in Orlando is trending downward and is at 8%, according to Orange County officials.
I know, we’re all wondering about Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. I wouldn’t expect any big changes right away at the theme parks.
Keep in mind that Florida has given Disney World and Universal Orlando the green light to open at at 100% capacity but neither resort has done so. Disney says its parks will be at about 35% capacity through at least September. I think it will be much sooner.
It’s more likely that the parks will go to 3ft. physical distancing before dropping any mask requirements.
With 3ft physical distancing, the lines in the parks won't stretch out as far and that means they can safely increase capacity.
Of course we will have to see what happens, especially over the next few weeks. My guess is that we will have an update from at least one of the theme parks.

Port Canaveral Cruises Likely to Restart in Mid-July
CDC says cruises may be able to resume starting in Mid-July. Disney Cruise Line posts offers for early August 2021
USA Today has reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sent a letter to the cruise line industry, including Disney Cruise Line, about possibly letting cruises set sail in Mid-July.
Disney Cruise Line posts offers for Early August 2021 Bahamian Cruises
“We acknowledge that cruising will never be a zero-risk activity and that the goal of the CSO’s phased approach is to resume passenger operations in a way that mitigates the risk of COVID-19 transmission onboard cruise ships and across port communities,” said Aimee Treffiletti, head of the Maritime Unit for the CDC.
The letter also said no test cruises would be necessary if 98% of crew members and at least 95% of passengers are vaccinated.
CDC spokesperson Caitlin Shockey gave a more specific timeline. Cruises could begin passenger voyages from the United States in mid-July, depending on cruise lines' pace and compliance with the CDC's Framework for Conditional Sailing Order.
Disney Cruise Line is planning to restart Bahamian cruises from Port Canaveral starting in early August, 2021. I already have special offers posted on the Disney Cruise Line page where travelers can save 25% on fares.

Disney World Updated Park Pass Reservations. Here's a Helpful Tip!
Here’s a tip for finding Disney World park reservations
You may notice that May and June Park Pass reservations for Walt Disney World just opened up slightly. This is due to a new policy Disney has implemented to help make theme park availability accessible to more people.
Walt Disney World Park Reservations
Has Disney increased park capacity? Not yet, though I think that’s coming soon.
Disney is now sweeping the system of cancelled package reservations.
If you had made a Walt Disney World vacation package and then later cancelled it, your theme park reservations remained in the system unless you manually went in and removed them.
Disney’s reservation system wasn’t yet smart enough to automatically cancel the park reservations along with the package cancellation.
Defunct park reservations were clogging up the system and making the parks appear to be sold out when they actually had availability.
Starting today, Disney will sweep the Park Pass system of all theme park reservations that are attached to cancelled package reservations.
Of course, if you hold tickets without a hotel reservation or have an annual pass, your park reservation will not be cancelled. The sweep only looks for park reservations that are attached to cancelled packages.
If you modify your package dates, Disney will give you 48 hours to change your Park Pass reservations to your new dates. After 24 hours, your park passes will automatically go back into inventory starting at midnight.
Disney World Park Reservation Tip
So we know that midnight is when Disney performs the sweep. If you need a park reservation and can’t get one, check early in the morning to see if any availability has been placed back into inventory. This would be your best chance of finding what you need.
There’s a lot to know about traveling to Walt Disney World these days. This is a great time to book with someone who can help you navigate all the changes and updates.

Two Disney World Benefits Expiring Soon
Disney World updated ticket offer and the regular cancellation policy will resume
Earlier this week I posted an an article about why I thought the Disney World Summer Offers Might Not Be Available Much Longer. As expected, Disney World just modified the 2 free ticket days offer.
Also, the flexible cancelation policy is about to expire and it doesn’t look like Disney World will be extending it this time.
Ticket Offer Will Expire Sooner Than Expected
The new travel dates for this offer have been updated, it’s now July 4 through September 25, 2021. It was previously valid most nights from January 8, 2021 though September 25, 2021. This means the offer is now unavailable for the remainder of April and all of May and June.
Offer Expiration Date: I also learned that Disney will be pulling this offer on May 2, 2021. Want to see how much you can save? Click here and I’ll send you a quote before it expires.
When looking at the Disney World park reservation calendar, you’ll see that the theme parks are nearly at capacity through July. I’m sure this has a lot to do with the revised offer dates and the new expiration date.
The good news is that you can book travel through late September and still get the the offer. Just book by May 2, 2021.
In this article, I explore the difference between ticket offer and the spring room discount. See which offer is better.
Flexible Cancelation Policy to End
As part of the reopening process Disney World guests can modify or cancel their reservations up to the day of arrival without penalty through April 30, 2021.
This was a great idea. We didn’t want a sick person traveling to Walt Disney World just because they couldn’t get a refund on their vacation.
Staring May 1, the regular cancelation policy will take effect. If you book a package reservation, you’ll have until 30-days prior to arrival to cancel. Inside of 30-days you’ll forfeit the $200 package deposit. If you make a modification inside of 30-days to arrival that results in the package price going down, Disney may impose a $50 change fee.
On room-only reservations and Magical Vacations Travel Exclusive Offers, you have until 5-Days prior to arrival to cancel for a full refund. The cancellation policy for Walt Disney World will be outlined in your quote from me.
When you book your Disney vacation with me, you’ll have an advisor who stays current with important news that may affect your travel plans. See all the perks you’ll enjoy here.
Why Disney World’s Best Summer Offers Might Not Be Available Much Longer
Summer Vacation Deals for Disney World
Attendance is definitely picking up at Walt Disney World. What a difference a year makes! Last spring Orlando was literally a ghost town with all our theme parks shuttered. This year Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando were the number one domestic travel destinations in America, according to TravelAgencyCentral.com.
While Disney has terrific offers through July 10 and even September, it’s the theme park reservations that you need to watch out for.
As of today, Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are at capacity for most of April, May and June. I’m also noticing that the parks are just now beginning to sell out in early July as well.
People have figured out that reduced capacity for a Disney theme park means less crowds and shorter lines. It’s like going back to the 1980s when FastPass wasn’t even a thing! So, you can save big and enjoy fewer crowds!
But if the Disney parks are at capacity, it doesn’t matter how good the hotel discount is, you won’t be able to get in.

Magic Kingdom Being Prepped for the 50th Anniversary at Walt Disney World
Main Street Confectionary to get Magical Enhancements
Disney World shared that many areas of Magic Kingdom Park are getting prepped for the 50th Anniversary. The infamous Main Street Confectionary on Main Street USA will get a refresh along with The Chapeau (the place where you can find your favorite Mickey Ears).
The Main Street Confectionary and The Chapeau will close on March 29, 2021 for refurbishment to prepare for the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Walt Disney World starting October 1st, 2021.
These two retailers will find a temporary home on Main Street USA starting on March 29th. Disney has not shared a completion date just yet.
I also learned that several Fantasyland attractions will soon get some fresh paint and other magical enhancements to celebrate the 50th.
I do not expect any Fantasyland closures based on what Disney has shared with me.
So far, Cinderella Castle received a new paint scheme along with gold leaf and bunting. The carousel in Fantasyland is being given fresh paint as we speak.
The entrance signs to Walt Disney World and the parking booths have also been repainted with new gold and royal blue paint schemes.
The Walt Disney World Railroad - Main Street USA station is currently under renovation, I can’t wait to see how it looks when it’s finished!
We also learned that Ratatouille will open on October 1st!
Keep and eye out for more updates as Disney World ramps up for the 50th starting on October 1, 2021!
And speaking of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, I have several offers available for fall 2021 if you’d like to be there to experience it for yourself.
